Folder items in sequence in Vista?

When I had a folder open in XP (minimized to the taskbar), the files were placed in the folder as I added them (possibly out of order numerically), and stayed that way until I switched folders, and then XP filed them as per their filenames (placed them in order), when I came back to that folder. Vista seems to arrange them by filename automatically as they are added. Is there a way that I can stop it from doing this, or set it to act like XP?
