Some scumbags have tried just now on broad daylight direct in front of my house in a secured estate to brake the chain lock of my scooter.

As soon as I opened the door they ran away shouting abusive words. Oh, how tough they are! BUt the revenge is mine! said talkingclock.

If i'd have for the next time something heavy behind my door and throw it at them - would this be ok as i just try to protect my belongings?

    Any experiences of this?

I'm raging and my blood is boiling!

no problem...padraig nally got away with a slap on the wrist for shooting a traveller in the back and again when he was on the ground when he was tryin to rob him.
strictly speaking you would be in the wrong but scum wont sue you... however they will come back with bigger sticks and stones so dont stup to their level. get a big ass dog!

Pádraig Nally came to my mind as well... :(

I already have a dog (a Jack Russel :D ) and she was going berserk behind the door... That's how i've noticed it...

Oh, I haveviolent thoughts now. Killing one of them is contributing more to the community then 20 of them were doing in their whole life...

Man i know so many people who's had this kind of trouble with scumbags all over the country, and boards.ie keeps adding to this number.

Mmm can dream but long-term speaking i would look into some kind of virus that targets scumbags only...:D

Find someone who can make booby traps and deliberately set something outside which would scream "Rob me!" to scumbags. Up to you to choose the level of punishment to inflict on these "outstanding members of society" but something nice and flashy comes to mind;).

Careful with the dog, scumbags know no limits in what they'd do to prove themselves "the man".:(

Before you do anything drastic, remember that these 'scumbags' know where you live. Do you want to have rocks chucked through your windows, or come out some day and find your bike is a charred wreck?

Fit a PIR halogen light outside, and maybe wire it up to an audible alert inside the house which will sound even in daylight.

can you do without your scooter for a few weeks? park it up in a family members back garden out of sight.

If they want it , they will have it.

And it they can't have it they'll potentially wreck it.

The only solution to this problem is a Mastiff.

That makes me looking like one of them, no thanks! ;)

Spoke to the Estate Agenty and they have it taped on CCTV. At least the area is coverd by CCTV. Had it now for almost 2 weeks hidden anyway. Got a bigger chain and an even bigger lock.

If you lock your bike outside an cover it with this type of polkyester covers, do you leave the heavy duty lock visible outside the cover as a "warning" that it is locked?

Any idea for a alarm system? Had a look on ebay but they are to expensive imho. I just need something that makes a noise when the scooter gets moved. Have it in front of the bedroom window anyway. No immobiliser and all this fancy stuff needed...
