I have an ipod photo for 2 years now and it knackered itself the other day. I was listenin to some music on it (as you do...) and it just crashed. As this can be a common occurence with ipods, I reset it and i got the sad ipod icon.

No prbs, this is also a common ipod problem so i reset it again, plugged it in and eh, more sad icons. Sometimes it would alternate to very low battery icon. (battery was about 95% full at the time)

My mac or PC dont recognise the ipod so cant restore it and I cant put it into disk mode.

Rang apple and the approved service centres in dublin wont fix out of warranty ipods. I have the name of place in parkwest but i hate to think how much it will cost to fix!

Anyone have simliar experiences or (good) advise please?
