Interview Nerves

    Hi,

I recently went for an interview, my first interview in around 6 years or there abouts. I thoroughly prepared for a week beforehand, had some sample answers worked out and so forth and thought i was well prepared (thought being the appropriate word here) On the day of the interview my nerves seriously got the better of me and when i was asked the first question which was really straightforward i lost my whole train of thought, and the fact that this happened made me even more nervous, to the point where i was babbling on like a babboon but not actually answering the question that was asked! The interviewers were really understanding and put me at ease and slowly but surely i came back into my own and everything seemed to go fine. I was just wondering if the start of the interview might influence their decision when it comes to offering a job..i apologised at the end of the interview for the nervous beginning but they assured me that it was ok..I'm not too sure..

    Interviews Suck!! :(

A good interviewer sees past the nerves and looks for the skills and good qualities that you can bring to the job.
Did you hear anything about the job yet?

Hopefully they will see past the nerves...They said someone would be in contact in a week or two! The waiting is just as bad as the interview. I really would love to get the job, the one i'm in at the moment is a nightmare!

If it is any consolation, the interview process can be nerve wrecking for the interviewer also ;)
But hope that you get the position.
