Do you guys cash from a table when you reach a certain limit and start a join a different table or keep playing with a big stack.

Villan is a good winning player that uses his stack to bully you around. It's always a problem when he has a stack but the reason I'm staying is that he will try to push you off hands and I have already folded TPTK to him a few times to a similar move and have felt on each occassion that I was probably ahead and if I only had 100bb I would have looked him up.
He seems to call your raise float you on the flop and CR the turn.... I've folded to this move for large pots a few times leaving a sizeable investment behind me each time....
I'm playing very well and building nicely and now I have this decision to make

    Dr.Lucky is at seat 0 with $237.
    slozzz3211 is at seat 1 with $560.16.
Macspower is at seat 2 with $624.78.

vendetta is at seat 3 with $507.85.
    The__n00b is at seat 4 with $197.
marcedo is at seat 5 with $236.57.

    The dealer is seat 4.

marcedo posts a blind of $1.
    Dr.Lucky posts a blind of $2.

    (Macspower is dealt Ad Kd.)

    Pre-flop:
    slozzz3211 raises $5 to 7
    Macspower raises $17 to 24.
    vendetta folds.
    The__n00b folds.
    marcedo folds.
    Dr.Lucky folds.
    slozzz3211 calls for $17.

    The flop comes
    9d Kc 2h.

    slozzz3211 checks.
    Macspower bets $40
    slozzz3211 calls for €40

    The turn comes Ah.

    slozzz3211 checks.
    Macspower bets $75.
    slozzz3211 goes all-in for $496.16.

    decision on me.....

Against standard opposition I'm normally shown a set here or at least AK but here I'm not so sure...

    Call/Fold??

given that he's seen you lay a lot of hands down in situations like this I think you have to call.

I play much lower limits, but based on your description of the guy surely this is a felt scorching situation? Bet he has AK aswell though... :(

Pretty much sums it up for me too, and I don't leave a table when I reach a certain level, I just play on once it's profitable to do so, personally I love to play deep stacked especially when I have position on a similarly sized stack.

Have you been seen to Double-barrell at all? was your bet sizing normal? he has huge FE so i think his push is def +ev (for him) has he shown down anything?

given previoius HH's its a call would be suprised if you are behind against a set or the like.... why else push the lot on that turn card, i will take a stab that he had the k with a q or the like with possible straight/flush possibilities with the ace and 2nd heart arriving on the turn

yeah I've doubled barreled a round or two earlier. he did something very similar. I had AJ on an A high board and he moved in on me after my turn bet and I folded. Earlier on when we were about 200bb deep he did a similar move after I three bet preflop and I folded although on this occassion I also had AK but had missed the flop and turn and couldn't call...

He hasn't folded to many of my 3 bets but then again I have been doing it a lot as he was raising my blinds a lot. :)

He has shown down a few hands against short stacks and has nearly always won at SD showing decent hands..

I think I have to call here...............

I'm not so sure that he doesnt have a set here, if he really is a good player, is he really going to risk his entire stack here on less than a set!

He might have an inkling that you have the very hand you have and is hoping you can't get away from it.

Either way it's a tough decision for you.

If you call I'd say you're going home and if you fold, which I think you should do, you should also go home, or at least leave that table.

Anyway the result is not really applicable but I called and the call was good (which I was happy with). The reason I posted this was I was discussing the hand with a friend of mine and he says that I should never have but 300 bbs into one hand and take a chance even if it's 80/20.... I think this is rubbish and if my read is right I have to call here or in any other situation where I am ahead. My friend is a winning player and says that every time he gets to 200bb he banks his winnings and starts a new table.... I'm interested in your views on this strategy?

Anyway here's what happened. Villan spent the next 5 mins apologising to me in the chat box as he thought I would fold...... and then to add insult to injury told me that he was representing a set and I should have folded so it's my own fault

dont ever listen to your friend again about poker!

You may even want to re-evaluate the fact that you still refer to him as your friend ;)

His strategy for leaving the table when he has 200 bb's is just plain silly, 400 bb's on a short bankroll o.k..understandable but that's just insane, deep stacked cash games is where real poker is played.

A true ass of the game to even mutter a word at the table after he sucked out, hush up and be happy with the chips he donked.

yeah in DS cash is where I play my best poker.. IMO...
No reason to leave when it's profitable to stay... Just having a few doubts at the min as I feel I'm playing very well but if it can go wrong it will go wrong...
Last night I was at 4 tables at 1/2 with 2500 between all four tables after starting with 200 at each table and left at the end of the session up by 200...all through no fault of my own (see BB stickey) . Anyway if when your 80% fav you supposed to win 80% of the time I guess I'm due not to loose one now for about 80 years......

The key to no limit hold'em is to put a man to a decision for all of his chips.
