advertising in live tournies?

question for the tournament playas: presented as the following scenario

blinds 600/1200, 25 players left in a live tournie (small buy-in). top 6 paid.

I have 10k in chips so very short.

My table has just broken and I've been moved to one where I only know two of the players. Both good players. Maybe 2 orbits have gone by.

    My SB.

UTG (seems awful) limps for 1200, has ~20k behind. Playing most hands.
MP limper (also bad). ~15k behind

The BB is a good player and has a massive stack.

I decide this is a good spot to make a move to increase my stack by almost 40%. Action comes around to me, I take a cursory look at my cards (64o) and immediately announce all-in and shove my chips over the line. BB looks suspicious but folds. UTG and MP both fold after minor dwell-ups.

    Pot shipped to me.

    I show the 64o.

Obv. this is stupid under most scenarios - can this be justified to establish image at a table of generally poor tournament players?
    Thoughts??? Am I just a donkey?

yeah, I've been meaning to get back into live tournie play but am very aware that the tight, predictable style which I employ in cash games doesn not cut the mustard in tournies where you need to employ a bit more creativity. Anyway I've been doing quite a bit of research into information asymmetry (non-poker related) and somewhere persuaded myself that this would be a nice move against a table of unknowns as I should get called v light subsequently.

Didn't work as I put my stack over the line 5 more times before my exit hand without a call...AA, KK twice, TT, AK

    bah humbug

I'd never want to do this when under average. Only time i'd consider it is if i had a massive tank and i wanted players to think im a little bit whehay but after showing id be planning to player tighter and wait for a good hand next time which i could afford to wait for but with about 10bb you cant really wait for a hand and you dont really want someone to look you up.

yeah, I forgot the bit about having a massive tank!

ah well, all the other factors were in place:

    -in the blinds
    -multiple limpers
    -largely unknown opponents

I think the only thing we can take out of this is that your average player pays no attention to image!

It was a nice bet. You got some nice dead money in the pot from the serial limpers but dont forget, just before you showed, you also said "nice folds lads!"

Personally, i dont think it was too bad showing this. A couple of donkeys had huge tanks and you need a double up. If you could find, AK or AQ and pull the same move again, 1 of them would have called you with A8 or some other rubbish like that.
