Spyware Blaster and VISTA?

Used to have XP-2 with Spyware Blaster installed. Worked fine. Recently bought a new laptop with VISTA Ultimate pre-installed and for some reason I get error messages whenever I try to install Spyware Blaster on the new system. All my attempts at installation used the administrator account with full privileges. Have not experienced this problem with other AV or spyware installations. Is there a compatibility issue between VISTA and Spyware Blaster? Any ideas?

Yes has to be a compatibility issue, lot of security programs still not working on Vista. dont worry your pc will be in safe hands with Windows Defender ;)

That's what I suspected, but wasn't sure. VISTA has incompatibility probs with some games too, including their own Big Huge.

As you know, VISTA Ultimate comes with Windows Defender pre-installed and I have kept it in operation. But I do not share the same level of confidence in Defender as you do. When I was running XP-2 and the beta version of Defender, it never caught anything, while Ad-Aware SE, Spybot Search & Destroy, and HiJack This were IDing malware/spyware every now and then. I run a bundle of compatible anti-malware/adware/spyware programmes as recommended by PC World (cause no one programme catches them all).

lol my sarcasm didn't quite work there, probably should have added a few more ";)"s
I think AVG anti-spyware works with Vista now, or soon will be. btw you should check out SpywareGuard if your a fan of SpywareBlaster.
