hows everyone finding the macbook battery performane
    im quite impressed.
there is always mixed opinions on how to maximize longevity and overall performance of a battery, so i was wondering if someone could post some advice on how to charge the battery and whether or not its important to lay the macbook on a flat surface to allow ehr to breath. i know the air vent is out the back for the processor, but i cant help but ntice how hot the processor area of teh macbook gets, is there any way f minimizing this heat
so any advice with regard heat and battery issues is all welcome
    thanks fr teh help

Funny you mention Apple batteries - there's a software fix for the following at:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305256

Battery Update 1.2 updates battery firmware and improves battery functionality.
    System Requirements
Installation of Battery Update 1.2 requires Mac OS X 10.4.8 or later.
The Battery Update 1.2 supports the following products:
    • MacBook
    • MacBook (Late 2006)
    • MacBook Pro (15-inch)
    • MacBook Pro (15-inch Glossy)
    • MacBook Pro (15-inch Core 2 Duo)
    • MacBook Pro (17-inch)
    • MacBook Pro (17-inch Core 2 Duo)

Apparently some people have had problems with their batteries. I have a Mac PowerBook G4 and love it - after 2.5 years I still get about 3.5 hours charge on the battery. Mind you, the battery was replaced free by an Apple recall at the beginning of 2006.
