    Hi

Ive got 2 interviews coming up next week for a trainee accountant role
One is with an industry company and the other is with a accountancy practice

Both support the ICAI qualification and both are highly reputable companies and both are offering similar study packages/starting salary

Just wondering which do people generally feel is the better environment ( work level, type of work, variance of work etc) for doing training within

    Thanks

not being flippant but It depends on the type of work you want to do?

It has been said that to move from practice to industry is easier than visa versa.

I trained in practice for two and half years and I just moved into industry. Like said before its easier to go this way and than to move from industry to practice.

I also felt that gaining experience in both areas is important to future development of your career.

I think practice is teh best place to start especially if you are going to be doing exams as you will receive exam and study leave etc.

Also by working in practice you will learn the fundamental principals of accounting auditing and taxation, company secretarial duties, tend you can take these skills learned into industry.

Ok the pay is less in practice but when you move into industry this will increase.
