    Hey,

I saw an ad for an aldi one of these in the paper the other day (for a good price)- I can't figure out when it is out from their website - but I have determined that I really need one of these myself. Can anyone point me towards a good/equiv offer - basically looking for a good value recommendation.

    thanks

The only cheaper one I see is this one(minus shipping) at Komplett but its only USB 2, doesn't require SATA like the Aldi one.

So I should hang on 'til Thursday based on this? What's the aldi price (don't remember off top of head). Thanks for the advice

edit: they've updated the website since read it last - sorry! 140€

I'd rather a Freeagent or a my book however the fact it comes with the eSATA upgrade kit is fairly cool.

The aldi hard drive does not require SATA.
Its USB, but includes an eSata upgrade kit, i.e a PCI eSata interface.

    Thats excellent value.

I bought the 500Gb My Book essential 2 weeks ago and im beginning to regret it now.

That iqon one looks a lot more compact, the My Book is a horse of a yoke!

And i dont think you can open up the mybook either, (without breaking it)

if anyone knows how to open it without breaking the enclosure id like to know!
