load ratio down and O'Leary's blaming increased airport taxes. Surely he should be taking a look closer to home and the increases in his add ons and sneaky charges.

btw mods, put thread here as these charges are a cause of growing discension amongst travellers.

Well, overall passenger numbers are up, so I don't think the extras are discouraging people.

Agree, but Aer Lingus is just as 'sneaky' - similar fuel surcharge, baggage charges, handling charge, seat charge. It's back to the good old package holiday for me next time.

Serves the money grabbing fu***r right, if he treated his passengers with a bit more respect and scrapped some of the ludricious charges things wouldn't be as bad.

Eh, things have never been better for him. The load factor is down slightly, but overall passenger numbers are still rocketing. Decreasing load factor is one of the side effects when an airline launches as many new routes as Ryanair has done in the past while and despite what the market says this is an expected blip. MOL has said this will be the way for Q1 and Q2.

Ryan air stock price are down due to a bonus issue.

Basically there are more shares out there, market capitalisation is actually up (number of shares * price) just the price per share is down.

So thank all of you for talking through your arse, but Ryanair are not taking a beating or a loss or anything like you think.

Was the rights isue not about 2 months ago (follow the links below and you'll see the graph drops a few months back)? However it lost over 3.5% on friday and also took a major hit on thursday after MOL announced the load ratio had dropped and he wasn't optimistic for the next 2 quarters. thats not talking through my ar se thank you very much, the share price lost nearly 10% over those 2 days.

link to share price on 1st of may: http://www.ise.ie/app/equityDetails.asp?equity=47628&start_day=1&start_month=5&start_year=2007

link to share price on 4th of may: http://www.ise.ie/app/equityDetails.asp?equity=47628&start_day=4&start_month=5&start_year=2007

please note that on both these days the number of shares was identical so the drop last week was NOT due to a rights issue. Thank you for talking through your arse.

No one, especially me, are claiming ryanair are losing money. I pointed out that MOL blamed higher airport taxes for drops in ratio on british routes. All I said was that he should look a bit closer to home as his sneaky method of introducing charges all over the place and then increasing them with as little attention being paid to it as possible are proving v unpopular with the bloke on the street.

Easy jet also reports filling less seats and today Aer Lingus shares fell sharply when they also filled less seats in April.
