PartyPoker affiliate deal!

Just wondering does anyone know of any other organisation that got offered this?

We "four of a kind poker" were approached by a guy from partypoker who wants to set up a partnership between us and them by way of affiliate deals, merchandise deals, online freeroll tournaments for out members etc...

They want to meet up with us and discuss a possible contract regarding what direction to take this.

As I said I would like to know if anyone else had heard of something along these lines?

Of course we'd be delighted to have our name linked up with them, but we'd just like to know of possible pitfalls etc... that could result from this.

    Cheers in advance.

    Carlo

I presume this may be similiar to the betfair/CPT and maybe Boyles and Big Slick. I believe this is a common enough occurance, and can really only be good for all parties in the way of more exposure, brand recognition etc.

Then again it may be totally different to the two associations I have mentioned above, and apologies to the parties involved if that is the case.

If it's an "affiliate relationship" they'll probably pay you based on the no of NEW players you bring to Party, (they have 2 options for this). But it would certainly be interesting to have a listen to them to see what they have to offer.

well i don't think that they would be pumping in thousands like betfair did to CPT  ..but yea I agree that it can't be a bad thing to get more exposure as a result of been linked to them.

Carlo i had a missed call from Rory about this with a message but i have heard nothing since I left a message for them to get back to me ... We have had 2 offers since our association with Boyles from other Poker Companies but i dont think this was a sponsorship offer as it seemed like they wanted players from the call rather then a partnership, I am waiting on a call back from a message i left and as soon as i know i will be in touch regarding the proposal

They must be on a hard sell. They rang me in the club also wanting to do an affiliate deal. Ive told them to email me on some details, looks like they're approaching all poker operators/clubs.

Unless you are on a permanent, ongoing and *decent* share of the revenue that the players you bring them generate, forget it. If you are looking for that kind of deal, GJP is forming relationships with card clubs and live operators which pays in this fashion. Anyone who is interested, contact Mike (or me). Anything else is, as Neil implied, them using you until you are spent and they then move on.

So many clubs at the moment are getting ripped...
