320d MAF...fyi..

    just a note for 320D drivers (mines an 01), and air mass meters.

    For whatever reason, I felt that recently, the car went.........'flat' above 3k rpm. More than it should, at any rate, and suspected the MAF.

    A new one duly fitted (Eur317 btw...), it was better, but not perfect, and then turns out that the new MAF, is of 'improved design' :rolleyes: , and that the ECU needs to be remapped to suit the new MAF. That was another Eu100, and it had to be in the main dealer for 2 hours.

    Apparently a lot of 320d's and X5 d's are exhibiting the problem.

    Oh, and don't forget the labour + VAT.

    I kept a copy of the printout for anyone that wants it.

    I almost hate to mention this, but I've heard of MAFs being brought back to life using nothing more than some Isopropyl Alcohol and a good clean around the MAF housing with a damp cloth.
