Attaching scanned documents

Just scanned a page of text to send via email but it won't attach. I've tried my college email account and hotmail but neither worked. Can anyone tell me what I might be doing wrong?

what size is the attachment? Most mail clients limit the size of attachemnts.

Make sure it is saved as a jpg to reduce size

If its text.. try scanning it using OCR (Optical character recoignition) Most scanners have this option .. you should then be able to save it in word format (very small file size)you can even edit it if you wish... send it in word format or convert it to a pdf and send then..
