Quick question regarding dealer behaviour

    Hi.
I'm taking the slow route to live poker after playing online for a couple of years and played a small tourney last sunday. Only 22 runners at €50 + €10 a head (freezeout). Seemed well run, the crowd have done this type of tourney before.

Got to the final table and with about 5 people left (top 4 get paid) I changed gear and began playing quite aggresively - raising pots with nothing etc. At first i didn't really notice but after a while I copped that the dealer was looking at my mucked cards after I had raised and everyone folded. This became even more noticable when it got to heads-up.

The dealer was definitly a poker player as I overheard him chatting to some of the players about big hands he was involved in the last few nights. I also had made a few etiquette mistakes while playing (please forgive me). I have an awful habit of talking myself through other players hands (under my breath) and was lashed about it.

It seemed weird that I was getting lashed about etiquette when this 'dealer' was looking at my mucked cards! Is this allowed? Is this a sly way of getting a read on me or finding my range in case he ever comes across me on a table in the future?
Just wanted to get some opinions.

    Thanks

    P.S.
    I won:D

No, he is not allowed to do that. If he persists after you tell him you should call over the Tournament Director and tell him the story. If he insists it is ok, then try and find a game elsewhere to play.

Its totally out of order for the dealer to be doing this. If you didnt want to make a scene at the table, you should definately have informed the TD about it. Its not acceptable behaviour at any table.

I was at this game. Dave was the dealer and yeh he does do that sometimes but I doubt he was doing it to get any info on your hand for future play. He just loves poker and was probably doing it just to have something to do. Its not the end of the world in a friendly game in fairness!!!

Well done on the win. You were the guy with the shades on your head yeh? Are you gona be back? You should play the cash game there is some serious dead money in it! I got moved to your table when only two tables left and was the handsome one sitting 2/3 to your left in a red top.

    some dealers are complete tits.

was playing in a casino recently and there was one guy who was obviously new to playing live and was a little nervous.

he was all in in a 3 way pot and when he seen he didnt have the winning hand called for chips,

Queue the dealer - "NO!, you win the side pot" (said in an a55hole tone). "Do you even know how to play this game?"

player apologises and gets blinded out of tourny

i just felt it was a bit out of order. This type of thing does nothing for players new to the live scene.

    He shouldn't do it.
If it bothers you, just tell him and he will stop.

The only time I look at cards is when someone is away from the table but I never look at someones card who purposely mucked unless they say it's ok.

im surprised to hear this happened in the SE, id half expect it in pub games and the like but not in proper card rooms. id go mad if a dealer looked at my mucked cards
