    Lads,

Apart from Derek in BFSL (who doesnt have anything at the moment), does anyone know anywhere else I might get my hands on a 8.4v mini battery and charger suitable for a TM MP5 before the weekend. I had an idea in my head that it wouldn't be too awkward to find something suitable, because they look very similar to the kind of batteries used in higher end remote control RC cars etc. Already tried Maplins in Blanchardstown, but they didnt have anything useful.

The MP5 was delivered during the week, but the battery and charger are in the package being held in Port Laoise 'cos I messed up the order :(

I'd like to give it a shot at HRTA this Saturday if I can, but it doesn't look like I'll have the second package before then.

apparently some RC/model shops do them alright, but i'd imagine they might be expensive, your best bet is to have a look around town and go into some model shops, there is mark's models on hawkins street (not far from trinity college) and there's one or two model shops on capel street aswell

any chance your package in portlaoise will be delivered tomorrow?

problem with the rc car batteries is that they are generally 6 x 1.2v cell packs (7.2v) - though since the layout of the cells is different for different RC cars, they are available 'loose', to be soldered together in your individual arrangement. Might be more hassle then its worth imo, see if you can borrow one for the day is my recommendation ;)

Yeah, thats the problem I've come across.
I'll give Paul in HRTA a ring and see if he has a suitable battery I could use for the day.

I doubt it, but I guess its possible. The tracking site still has it listed as held, but the other package is still listed simply as having arrived in Port Laoise - nothing at all about it being out for delivery, never mind actually delivered ! So it all depends on how accurate the info on that tracking page is.

    I'm an impatient f**ker, ain't I ? :D
