Nokia D Box

hmm hope I dont get in trouble for asking this, but the other (locked)thread has me wondering.

What is a Nokia D box and how would it be advantageous over any other digital set top box?

I'm not supporting any illegal activity here. Just wondering what it is.

Unless you plan illegal activities you can't connect it to the ntl network.....So unless you want a pricy doorstop , not much use....

surely you can talk about what it does same as you can talk about torrents in the broadband forum without providing info on how to do it or where to find it?

there is many legal users of torrens (eg. open source software) but none for this box in ireland...

1) You can't connect any set box to cable without operator permission. Civil issue. T&C

2) Any attempt to obtain pay Tv services without correct payment to the provider is a criminal offence

You would have to prove you had not commited either civil or criminal offences if you had a non-UPC supplied box.

Anyone creating another Dbox or Euro box thread in these two threads get banned.

3) Anyone obstructing the investigating officer is guilty of a criminal offence. The ISP and Boards.ie would have to cooperate to provide names & addresses potentially of anyone that could be using equipment illegally.

If I had any kind of wierd box I can prove it is not for theft. The possession itself it not illegal. However a normal household could not prove an innocent use.

I predict a massive crack down on cable TV theft.
