does anyone think this is a betrayal of their usual stand on things , we all know this will blow off and be litter in a few weeks ?

I don't think that is a betrayal, basically they have to be in the public eye somehow, and they don't seem to have put as many up as the other parties.
I know my local Gp candidate has used 100% recycled paper for his handouts and brochures so I think they do have a moral high ground.

Provided they take them down quickly and recycle them, then no probs. Are they held up with the usual plastic cable ties? They're nasty!

Its a case were the means justify the ends, they put up these posters, to gain more seats, the more seats they gain the more they can do to help the enviroment. If elected they should be able to do alot more good in the area than the harm caused my the posters.

They'll get heavily fined under the Litter Act if the posters are not gone within a week of the election and those posters cost a lot of money so they'll be more than likely using them again for the next election. So I'm sure they're aware of it.
Are you suggesting having posters at all is a betrayal of their principals? How do you rationilise that, since they've always used posters?

imo all election posters should be banned anyway - they're a terrible blight on the landscape

I must admit I laughed out loud at having that pointed out! And I'd seen him before but never considered the Father Ted connection. :D
