After last nights amazing match i want to go to Athens for the final, just to be there and soak up the atmosphere, won't be able to afford a ticket. Anyway i looked up flights and everythings about a grand which i expected. I was thinking about flying somewhere in europe with ryanair and then training it over, enyone any experience doing this? where would be the best place to fly to?how much would a train be likely to be? Thanks.

Similar query, but frankly and convenient route will cost you a bom considering the circumstances

Yea but you would probably have to change in Slovenia, Crotia, Serbia, and Montenegro, and you woudl have to leave tomorrow morning.

Surely you can find somewhere with more direct links to Athens that Treviso ?

read on a good few sites today that all the accomodation in athens and surronding area is booked up! and rooms are being sold on at stupid prices

i dunno is that to discourage people going with no tickets but just said id throw my 2 cents in

Apparently booking a weeks package holiday to crete/corfu and getting the boat to the mainland is a popular/cheap way of doing it!

If you've got flights to Italy already you might want to consider getting ferry from Brindisi/Bari/Venice to one of Greek islands and then connecting ferry from there.

google brindisi ferry and should find it, can't imagine train would be feasible so ferry might be good option.

Oh, and good luck in the final!!

A mate of mine booked a weeks holiday to Crete for €315 with Budget travel. He then booked a return flight from Crete to Athens for the game for about €200. Defo worth a look as you will get a weeks holiday and the game for about €500-€600. Much better deal than €2,000 for a 2 night package.

If you are doing this I would do it asap though. Budget wont have that many places and if Utd win, then a load of people will go for this.

That's if Man Utd. don't get in. €3250 if they do, for the same package.

Afriad not, Athnes seems to be along way from everywhere.
Why is it that whne Liveropool get to the final it seems to be hosted is the furthest reaches of UEFA's juristiction.
