Hey, I've accidentally deleted files from my USB pen drive - I've been looking up data recovery programs on the net but they're all just free demos and will not actualy let me "recover" the files.
Anybody know of any free data recoery programs out there?

Recuva is a really good program for recovering deleted files.

Does anyone know of any way to 'fix' a pen drive that is registering a drive letter but cannot be read?

I have tried numerous sites/programs/forums etc. but can't find a solution.

I tried Recuva, but to no avail.

    Any suggestions appreciated.

What drive letter is it registering?

Don't have it to hand right now, but IIRC it shows up as drive F:

I've tried accessing it through disc management in windows but although the drive letter is there, its telling me that its unreadable.

Some of the software I have tried using give me a 'please insert disk into drive F:' message.

I've even tried the 30 minutes in the freezer trick.

I personally think the thing is fcuked.

Did you try and change the drive letter in disk management?

Can't do anything with it because its unreadable.

In disc management it shows up as a drive, but says unreadable below it, so I can't access the option to change the drive letter.

    Thanks for the suggestion though.
