Hi, I thought I'd put this up as it's one of my favourite photos and I'd like to see what others think. Any tips on touching it up or changing aspects of it? I'd like to know how to edit my pictures to give them a better finish.
    Thanks

Lovely shot!! Great colours and lovely perspective. Nice composition too, the only thing I would think, just a personal preference is that I would have loved if the diagonal start/ended in the bottom right hand corner... Still a super shot though, well done.

Great colour and nicely composed. I do agree with 440Hz on cropping up from the bottom to about half way up on the diagonal so it lies lies on the corner. I think it then works better as a lead in line from there and it also moves the horizon down lower so that great sky is more of a focus in the image.

Yep, I agree with the crop idea too. Nice clean image which does make me feel like a stroll along the pier.

Very nice shot, I like it the way it is but I suppose it would be good to try a crop.

Great dawn shot, I need to get a few more cheesy ones like that before I leave.

hey, thanks for your comments. I've cropped it from the bottom to the end of the pier. Have to say I think it makes quite a difference. Funny how such a small detail can alter a picture.
Now, excuse my ignorance but could someone tell me what is meant by composition?
Also, it was sunset not sunrise. Not a chance of me getting up that early :)

The organisation of forms and colours within a work. The arrangement of the differing elements that go to make up a piece. Best way to see this is to get out there and take loads of shots.

I do take a lot of photos, I always have my camera with me. I'm just not up on terminology and techniques. I don't know much about it but I knows what I likes! :D
Thanks for all yer comments too.

Ok, I've been messing around now with a few others. Any tips? Even if anyone has advice on the actual taking of the photos, I'd also appreciate it.
    Thanks

D'ya know something, i actually think i prefer the original version of the shot, before it was cropped.
It seems mpre natural to me than the almost perfect diagonal, not as unnaturally symetrical.

Agree though the colours are amazing, well done :)
