Ok, so Im (hopefully) graduating this year (Civil Engineering) and currently applying for jobs etc.

Is it very important to employers about past results over the last 3 years? as mine are not the best. Obviously I passed but just by the skin of my teeth each year. :o

Getting a bit worried now........is my degree going to be a waste of time??

no only your final degree grade will matter

Not hugely important no, but they do usually take a look at them anyway. If you are on course to graduate with a relatively good degree I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.

Yeah as long as it isn't a pass grade then you're fine.

a 2.2 is grand for most jobs.... Higher profile companies usually require 2.1's or over though.

If you can cram enough to get a 2.1/1.1 the extra work is def worth it. A lot of the best companies/jobs have a huge number of applicants and can cherry pick the ones with strongest academic records. As most applicants won't have much relevant work experince decisions are usually based on final year results and projects.

everyone who joined my empoyers in last 2 years grad programme had 1.1s.....

Do most companys require a min of 2.1 for graduate programs, sounds like they would be tough enough to get onto considering there will prob be lots of 1.1s going forward as well...

Its only really relevant for your first proper (non flipping burgers or stacking shelves etc) job to be honest.
After that, just having a degree + experience on the cv is all the employer will care about in the main, at least that's how its been for me.

Well, when I was in 4th year, I got talking to a few reps from different companies about their graduate programmes and all of them said that a 2.1 would be required (at minimum)

An odd company would accpet a 2.2, but I was told that I'd have to do "a very good interview".

OP, nearly all companies look to your final year results and your final year project. Your grades before that shouldnt matter (unless its a tie-break situation)
