Where can I buy a wii in dublin city and how much should i expect to pay? Buying it as a birthday present for someone, looking for 2 wands (joystick type things), the wii sports pack and wouldn't mind another "good" game. Any advice?

Well the console is about 250-270 depending on where you buy it(more likely 270) and the wand(wiimote)is about 50.

I'm not sure but I think Game are getting them back in stock.Well I'm sure places would be getting them back in stock soon, just go into game shops and argos and ask or ring them.

A good game would be Zelda Twilight Princess and the Godfather (some people like SSX but I'm not into it much to be honest) and all games are about 50-60.

Also, theres an add on to the remote called the nunchuk and its about 15-20 but isn't really necessary.

I have seen Wiis in stock in several Smyths stores (lately, Blanch and Liffey Valley, but others may have them too, just give them a call to check).

Who are you buying it for? That would help advise what kind of game they should buy. I'd probably buy different games for an 8-year-old than a 30-year-old, likewise for different tastes (if they like sports games, or action games, etc). Definitely recommend Zelda though.

If you want two sets of controllers (so 2 people can play), there is one set in the box so you'd need 1 more Wiimote and 1 Nunchuck. You can either get the Wiimote seperately or as part of the Wiiplay package (you get a bunch of minigames with it). Then get another Nunchuck on it's own.

AFAIK, HMVs should have them back in stock as well.
looks like the stock shortages are finally over 6 months after launch

I'd avoid HMV. I spotted the Godfather in the one on Grafton Steet for €75! What's up with that?

Are you sure it wasn't the PS3 version?

I just want to make it clear that all wii's include wii sports in the box some shops are trying to trick people into thinking that wii sports is a seperate game and are charging more for it.

100% sure. Blackhand edition. I was blown away and was very sure to check. Maybe it was mislabeled with the PS3 price or something, but it was a Wii box with a €75 tag on it.

Every wii except in Japan comes with a copy of wii sports.

I think his question is, what store is trying to trick people into thinking Wii Sports isn't standard in the package.

King.Penguin, in that case I'd say go with Zelda. I've heard good things about Godfather (haven't played it yet). Rayman is good fun too, but IMO Zelda is a must-have.

thanks, i'm going to game now and then smyths. I heard smyths is 370 for 2 games, one controller and wii sports. bit expensive. the two controllers are a must. might try and get zelda second hand if people have already traded it in. heard prince of persia is good

in GAme it's 402 for console, 2 controllers, 2 nunchucks, wii sports, another little mini games, sonic (or call of duty, choice between 5 games). working out a little bit more expensive then i thought ...

In Game there was no picture on the box for wii sports. They are selling a preowned console, controller, nunchuck and wii sports and sonic for 300. out of stock though.

    Con? Explain?
The fact that Wii Sports isnt advertised as coming with the console? It comes with it regardless of whether it's advertised or not. It's not like the staff remove Wii Sports and then sell the console! Or is it the Pre-owned price? Cos I'll freely admit the P/O prices aren't the greatest.

yeah, it was outrage at the pre-owned price. fecking crooks, the lot of them!

Yup, some of them are ridiculous. No arguments, but sometimes there are a few gems. They're becoming increasingly rarer though :(

all the preown cames I looked at were in between 50 and 56 euro. Which is a bit made considering most of the new games were 59.99. The monkey game was actually reduced to 40 or 45 new but still 50 something preowned.

one of the games was 75!
