I can't get into the control panel for my website lately. Webworld told me they switched it over from plesk (which never really worked either) to helm. I was told it was probably the firewall on my computer which seems true I've tried it on another computer with no problems.

I'm using the digiweb satelite modem that's connected to a wireless router to deliver the internet to a few computers.

I've unblocked port 8086 but still can't get into the control panel. What else do I have to do to get this working?

Maybe you should mention what firewall and browser you have
or if any other sites are blocked
    or error messages

have you tried telnet into that port
firewall should not be an issue for outgoing traffic from your default browser unless it's been locked down tight
