You will probably be gone just before the mass of poker descends on the place. I would imagine that most of the irish will go out no earlier than mid June, but there may be some exceptions of course. July 2nd for me.

Hi just on the topic of vegas, i qualified for the main event the other day and am currently looking at flights. Was wondering if anyone would have any advice as the best way to go. Also i have the option of accomodation or $1000. I am guessing that the accomodation would be the better of the two, has anyone been with stars before who would know what the accomodation would be like

I think its accomodation in the Rio? not sure for how long, check the website, should say.

And I would say accom would be better than the $1000

Thanks. The accom is for 7 days or longer if you are still in the tournament afterwards. Just wasnt sure what the quality of hotel would be like.

I didn't stay in the Rio, but I didn't hear any complaints.

Proximity wise though, The Rio is where the WSOP is, so it saves you having to get taxis there and back constantly, almost no where is walkable in Vegas.

    There are several routes.

    1. Dublin - La - Vegas. this is the one I chose after looking at all the options. Probagbly the handiest in terms of travel time, arrival times, convenience.
    2. Dublin - London - Vegas. This is the one I was initially going to go (Virgin Atlantic) but due to the flight time from Gatwick it would mean an overnight stay there.
    3. Dublin - NY/Chicago or similiar - Vegas. May be the cheapest option, but from what I have heard the least comfortable in terms of duration, comfort and so on.

if you don't mind been in downtown then try the plaza. its the cheapest about $500 for 10 nights. lady luck etc... are abit cheaper but i heard that the rooms can be really bad.

i wanted somewhere cheap and clean so I went with the plaza again. I had no problems there.

also are there any $1/$2 no limit games? my g.friend will be with me and while she's a good player she would feel out of her depth playing above that limit. so I'd like to find a few games of that limit. maybe the lowest limit is the 2/4 game though?

If you are staying downtown you will find $1/2 No Limit in Binions and in the Golden Nugget across the street. Both games are uncapped and very fishy, so you can buy in deep and increase your edge while the GF can buy - in small and find plenty of gamblors willing to double her up with rubbish.

nice one mate. cheers. yeah that seems like the spot to start it off :o

I'm there from June 19th until the 29th. 2 of us booked flight on hotel on travelocity and got flights (direct from Linz) and hotel (Imperial Palace) for the 10 days for $1760 (about 1300€) each which i think is ok. The reviews for the hotel weren't great but it is very central!
