Got problem with my pace 2500 (2500 from memory) here's a photo attached. Lost all the radio channels above 900's mark n signal meter very erratic with the transport stream changing all kinda numbers n figures. No sattilite signal common occorance. Checked with a mates digi-box n all fine.
Is it on the way out?

    yes.
Those are very old. The tuner fails.

They are old but they are a fast Digibox...I've had mine since 1999 or 2000. It failed in 2003, got it fixed for around €65 and its working perfect since. It will obviously pack in some day but I think at least one repair is worthwhile.I think the trick to getting long life out of a digibox is to leave it at least in standby constantly, don't stack other equipment on it and leave at least two or three inches ventilation space above it.:)

Ok. Thanks for the quick reply. Is the tuner component easily replaced/fixed. Have a bit of electronics experience. Basicially, is it worth opening up the box and having a look?

It stands upright and has a long row of pins to solder.

Tuners can be bought from Pacelink.co.uk, Kesh (they'll fix/replace your box too if you wish) or Donberg.ie also sell them.

Thanks. Will do that if price is reasonable. Have repaired plenty of tv's, Sat reciever will be an interesting change.
    Many thanks

Its an easy repair using solder wick or a solder sucker. Kesh are great for parts, I have replaced at least 3 ZIF tuners in Pace boxes.

    Best of luck
