Much respect, lovely crisp images there. Excellent natural look from the fisherman, and love the father-son silhouette too. You've captured the light beautifully.

    Love the 2nd & 3rd shots.
    What lens did you use?

I'll add you to my flickr contacts, if you don't mind?

Thanks everyone for the comments, City-Exile - i have added you too...

I used the 70-200mm f4 for all of these shots - i am finding a re-affinity(?) for it, having not used it in ages..

can i ask how you got the silouette effect in number 2?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 657 ✭✭✭Benster

Usually done by exposing for the brighter background, thus no detail is recorded in the foreground.

I like that 2nd pic most out of the lot. Initially I did think it would be better if the boat had been more to the right, but there's something about those intersecting lines...

Very nice! The second one would be my favourite too, great timing to catch the profile of the kids face. The first one is good too, very natural - is it the same guy?

good eye latchiko i was wondering if anyone would notice that...

nothing to the silhouette effect as was described, i was metering into the sun so naturally the foreground will be underexposed..the sunset gave a great cast too

Ha ha! ;) It was the silhouette of the cap that did it!

Like everyone else I like the second one. I do really love the fourth one, the way the sunlight reflexts from the wing of the bird is amazing!

I like the first photo because the guy has a really interesting face and you seem to have captured a lot in a still shot. Excellent.

Don't really like the third one but that may be because I find the others so good!
