hi, Im thinking of changing my first year Bsc degree subject choices, I had physiology down and decided to go for microbioloy instead, and Im fairly happy with that but I have to choose another subject and Ive narrowed it down to biochem or pharmacology, just wondering if anybody has any advice for me? regarding jobs etc Ive heard theres better demandd for bio chem graduates, even though most of the companies in ireland are pharmaceutical based, is this true? Im thinking about medical chem labs like in hospitals but im not sure, thought biochem would link in
    all help appreciated

I just thought I'd throw this in and say that Biochemistry is the most interesting subject I have ever studied in my life. :o I'd recommend having decent knowledge of the human anatomy before doing Biochem though.

I've been doing Microbiology for the past while too and it's quite interesting; but Biochem is the King. It opens your eyes.

well pharmacology is really interesting and not really too hard . ( well at the moment anyway im only in second year) there is a lot of structures. but if your interested in seeing what drugs work and why they work it its a good choice. as for job opertunities i don't know about that
