Yeah it's a beta software until the final version is released with Leopard afaik.

Just wondering, with 10.5 is there any word on whether it will come as part of the OS or will it have to be bought seperately?

Yes, it'll be part of 10.5 and future upgrades I assume.

I'm not too sure on this point. It's meant to expire in September but technically Bootcamp is only the installer that sets everything up for you. Therefore any windows installation and partition already installed will be unaffected. The boot selector that lets you choose which partition has been around since os9 and isn't a part of Bootcamp afaik.

So I wouldn't worry about. Apple may provide another free version anyway.

    thanks for the help.
so u think there should be no problem
its just im not that up on macs yet, so i wouldnt want to faced with any technical issues just yet! so u think i should go ahead witht eh installation.
just one other thing, do you think this copy of XP will do the job, as in its an OEM version, watever that means , so if u could just tell me if u think it will work:

    http://www.viosoftware.com/Windows+XP+Home+PG/Windows+XP+Home+with+SP2+O

(im referring to the first two there on that webpage)

    thanks very much,

As afar as the installation, yeah go for it.

'fraid I'm not too up on the OEM issue, but afaik the first one on that page should be fine. Looks like a reliable crowd.

Bootcamp installation is very easy and provided there aren't any freak power cuts while partitioning the hd everything should go very smoothly. I was very impressed with it. Using windows itself, well that's another thing :D

id say apple will release it free to keep windows people buying apple hardware, but if they decide to be stingy it will probably be 79.99 like iLife but it will come with the windows versions of the iLife apps that apple are supposedly working on
