Compaq Presario 1600 Question

Can anyone answer this for me as the HP/compaq website doesn't seem to have the info I'm looking for and the cust support just kept transferring me about.

Anyhoo the GFs son has this laptop, the problem is that there are no USB ports on it, the only thing it has in the way of ports is a PCMCIA slot, so can I use this slot with some sort of converter to allow it to take USB ?

Thanks in advance for any advice

    Slow Motion
