I'm holding out for 10.5 until I go for a new Macbook and I'm happy to wait... only question is when?? Any idea's, dear friends? I'm thinking late June personally.....

It could be a good deal later than that.

They took staff away from the project to work on the iPhone software.

Holding out for Apple products will only leave you a broken man... I was hoping for some Mac Book Pro updates myself before purchasing.

Leopard is coming out in October, it's been confirmed by Apple. It was supposed to be June but the iphone took precedence.

Bear in mind that they also confirmed it was coming out this spring a few weeks before the October announcement. Although I can't see it taking much longer than October given the iPhone will be released in the States by then

This is true, but they explained iPhone dev and rollout has delayed it

To be honest its for the best anyway as the iPhone will only overshadow any thing new in OSX 10.5

I cant see iPhone taking off in its present format. Wasted resources if you ask me! Should have kept on leopard!

It has definitely been confirmed for October. Originally it was hoped that it would ship in June.

Quite honestly, I don't really care. Yes, I enjoy playing with new operating systems, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with Tiger. Certainly no reason to delay new hardware purchases, unless you don't mind waiting of course, in which case you might as well wait and see. For instance, I might consider buying a new MacBook Pro once the new Intel chips and Leopard come out.

I am going to wait as I really want to try out the new system. I was also hoping it would be June, but sadly it's not going to be. I am hoping to get a Mac Pro laptop, but for now...I will invest in a new SLR camera :). BTW, I think the iPhone is a waist of time and money but that's just my opinion.

ok, its after june anyway, theres a free full beta at WWDC, and the email i got said "a huge head start on development" , the word huge suggests a long wait.... the iphone is priority at the moment
