Flatmate interviewed with them this year for a grad position, knew from the first interview that they were going to make him an offer. About 4 months later after a lot of messing him around they finally did make an offer, he waited a month to tell them that he wasn't taking it - he never had any intention of working for them after the way they treated him.

Apart from that, it's an interesting area to work. They're quite a bit smaller than IBM or Accenture, so the opportunities may be less. They do similar kinds of work to those two which means they are often bidding against them. Having not gone for the role myself (I stuck to the bigger names) I don't know much else about them, but have you looked at their website for info?

I know them quite well, I know someone quite senior working there. Are you interested in the management consultancy or IT consultancy? What do you want to know?

They are better than Accenture to work for. Highly professional and very corporate. They are good payers and a good name to have the CV. As an IT person they might be the best of the consultancies to work for.

Why do u say better than accenture? I've only heard good things about accenture.

They used to be KPMG Consulting. They renamed after someof the accounting scandals in the US a few years ago, probably to make it clear they are not part of KPGM accounting.

I know a few people who used to work there. They are much like IBM or Accenture (which used to be Anderson Consulting and rebranded for the same reason). Large consultancy firm, they'll make you work hard and put you on projects that you may or may not be ready for just to farm you out and get paid alot of money for you. Its hard to climb the ladder because there are so many of you at the same level. But some people like it and it looks good on the CV. Dont know what the pay is like. If you looking for big company experience on large scale projects its as good a place as any to work for.

From what I gather they didn't split from KPMG because of any accounting scandal, but more because new laws restriced the provision of non-audit services (for example, consultancy work) to audit clients. Thus the consultancy business would suffer because of KPMG's extensive client base in Ireland.

If it's still run anything like KPMG it should be a very good place to work!

Been working with them on contract a short while. I only have good things to say about them. They treat their staff very well with good bonuses and pay increase from what I see. They have been very nice to work for as a contractor treating me very like any other member of staff. Very well organised and there is a real sense of working together.

Northern Trust has taken the dublin bearingpoint over.

That is completely untrue, Bearing Point Ireland are owned and controlled by Bearing Point not Northern Trust!
