Guys, I am looking for a free id tag program to edit the id tags on over 2000 mp3s. Any suggestions?

    Cheers

    Media Monkey is pretty good

    The Godfather is also useful

    Thanks, man.

I'm using mediamonkey now, but when I make the changes it doesn't seem to save the changes once I leave the edited folder. Could you tell me what I am doing wrong, as I can't see an option to save changes.

    TBH I don't know.
Just finished a new build and don't have MediaMonkey installed as yet. Is there no clues in the help file?

Thanks guys. Got it sorted. It saves the edits on my external drive, but any changes I make on my creative mp3 player are lost as soon as I open another folder, its down to the crappy creative software.

Good to know you got it sorted.
Now you just need to get a decent MP3 player :D

The layout of the zen vision m is fairly frustrating tbh, it's not a patch on my archos av500 which is recognised as an external drive with no need for **** software.

I have an Archos 404....drag and drop FTW!

I was using some mp3 tag edit sw before, when i realised that in xp you can edit the tags directly in windows explorer. To say edit the album tag, just select all the files in the album the right click properties, summary, advanced and you can change the tags for all the files.

Much easier in my opinion that using some other sw.

There is also a prog called musicbrainz, which can pull the mp3 details from a server and automatically tag the files. The only prob i had with it is that the users seems to be based in the us, so most uk/ireland releases are not on the database so are not recognised correctly. It is handy when it works though.

    Another vote for MP3 tag.

    Now with added album art.
