Help, overhead line, NTL wont move it!!!

Please help. I've been trying for 4 years to get NTL to move an overhead cable that runs diagonally across my driveway. Birds constantly poo on my cars and occasionally me and my young kids. I've tried everything. I have a local politician involved for the past year trying to get it moved. Its not that complicated an issue, I live in a mid terraced house and my neighbour at the end of the terrace has already agreed to have the wire moved to his house.

Please give me some ideas, no one has ever returned my phone calls. One manager in particular has not returned 28 phone calls from me. I'm just short of sending them the bird poo in an envelope (is that illegal by the way????)

Is it not just a matter of sending a registered letter (keep a copy for youraself) telling them to remove it within 28 days or youll remove it yourself ?

The bird poo would be illegal in the UK (and Id imagine in Ireland too)

You could also keep receipts from carwashes/drycleaners and threaten to bring an action through the small claims court.
Most companies will try and avoid having to defend a case in the SCC as it is costly for them and their ability to claim these costs back (even if they win) is very limited

I heard on the radio last week that dangling some cd's on a string will drive the birds crazy..The shiny refelections keep them away...

Ring NTL and tell them u are getting some structured work done to your house, roof repairs extension etc and that your builder has pointed out that all Utilites are currently in way and for safety reasons you require them to be moved
