Computer software for recording from turntable

    Can anyone recommend one? Am not having much luck with recording onto cd. Anyone record through the computer and how easy is it to hook up?

    Hmmmm.....thanks! I've downloaded the software but now I've discovered that my amp does not have a 'line out' or 'rec out' on the back so I can't hook it up to my laptop. I have a Denon amp that's about 15 years old and does the job perfectly so I don't want to buy a new one. Any way around this?

    you can get a box that takes a turntable in and puts out a USB connection into the computer.

    www.richersounds.ie will have a phono stage (a phono amp really) that will provide a boost for the turntable. They have a Cambridge for €60 or a NAD for €75. If you ever want to use the TT with that amp you'll need one anyway so........

    i would have presumed that a denon stereo amp would have a built in phono stage. any half decent amp i've ever seen has.

    as the popularity of turntables waned amp manufacturers dropped the phono stage. It was noticebale even 10 years ago on mainsteam amps.

    im still saying that any decent denon amp would have a phono input.

    any of the new ones do, so im fairly sure slightly older ones will have it as well!

    What's the model number of the amp ? If the quality isn't critical you could probably get away with the headphone output. Use a 3.5mm jack to phono lead and a 6mm headphone adaptor.

    Do you want to convert many tracks or is it just a one off. IF you have a lot to do then PCWorld are clearing out NuMark USB turntables that connect directly to the computer complete with software.

    I'm surprised your amp doesnt have a line out or rec or tape out connector.
