Hoping someone can help. I'm looking to get a new heavy bag - the last one wasn't great quality - but I can't find anywhere except for Argos to get one.

I came across this one but I'm not sure if it'll last this time around.

Keeping in mind I'll be using it outside - have a wall bracket out the back garden, but will take the bag inside when not in use

Would it be a good investment?
And if not, can anyone recommend a place to get a bag in the Kildare area?

I'm not taking up the sport, just looking to stay in shape, but it'll be used alot over the summer months.

Star fitness in Wicklow seem to have a very good selection of heavy bags.

Another place to try would be Mick Dowling's shop in Terenure, don't think there's a website for it.

I have heard very good reports about "Powair" foam/water heavy bags. These are a different kettle of fish to a cheap water filled bag that you might find in Argos. Howver I don't know if there is anyone selling them in this country.

The bag you linked to is probably alright for what you want although I'd say it's not partcularly heavy and as with all rag filled bags, settling will be bit annoying.

If you want to spend more money than is necessary, then go to Mick Dowlings.
That's my experience anyway and I've heard it repeated regularly in boxing circles.

I've bought a number of bags over the years from a fella by the name of Mullen, who has a Martial Arts shop on the corner at the T-junction of Mary's St. and Caple St. in Dublin. It's been about 2 years since I last purchased but I always got good quality and reasonable prices.
