Best way to present charts

I know this thread may cross a few different subjects but any help is appreciated.

I want to set up something at work for displaying charts (in picture format) at meetings (small meetings - where everybody could bring charts etc on individual usb keys). The obvious solution would just to have a laptop, however I would like to display these on a tv/ screen. I'm thinking of a cheap laptop, cheap lcd screen and a reasonably long VDA type cable.

Is there any other way to do this (cheaper?) - I dont really want to go messing with projectors as invariably you spend more time setting them up that using them.

I know some new lcd screens have usb capability - so maybe this would do away with the need for the laptop. I suppose the tv would have to support the relevant chart/picutre formats .gif/.jpeg etc

    Thanks

Projectors are a piece of piss to set up.

The screens in work have a tendency to go missing (if you can believe that) - at least you can bring a laptop away with you easily enough and fix the tv to the wall permanently

How so? Bolt the projector to the roof. Setup once, then all you have to do is turn it on top use it. But they are expensive.

Buy a lcd monitor, not a tv, the resolutions will be crap on a tv.

If you are really worried about cost and theft, then just use a laptop with a 17inch screen forgoeing the need for another screen.
