[C&C] A few from the forests

I was out in Menlo on Tueday, out near work yesterday and then out in Renville last evening with Mike and Katie. I'm really loving my spot meter. My new photos all have watermarks and machine-readable CC licenses in their metadata as I've found people on Bebo, Livejournal and MySpace using my pictures without attribution, which is the sole thing I require.

    Good, good, good.
I luv the first one. It's magical!

I really like the first one, but I think the others are missing 'something' in comparision to your usual work. Personally, I would have created a darker exposure for the backgrounds of the trees photos, and blended it into the normal exposure to make the foreground stand out. Possibly a bit of blur in the darker exposures too, but as I said...That's what I'd do!

First and last two are my picks, the first in particular looks like moonlight.

Just wondering about the metadata thing, do you mean the pics or the web page itself has the licence embedded? I was trying to figure a way of embedding some kind of licence via Lightroom as a standard import option.

Has to be sunlight, sky is too blue for moonlight

I wouldn't say that - It could be about 9 in the evening? It's too dark to be sunlight.

Alternative is that it's a street light & custom WB...

It was actually lunchtime. I metered on the leaf the sun was behind and underexposed by two stops.

For the rest of them it's been a lot of trial an error on my part as it's hard to get good light and a good angle in a wood. I'm planning to drag Mike out to a forested part of Connemara on Monday morning, I hope to do better then.

I don't think I'll be going back to the People's Park anytime soon as I had to cut a tick out of my arm this morning. :(
