Chorus Digital Box - Help Needed

    Hi all

I was trying to see if the "record" menu on the Chorus box would allow it to change channels while I was out to record from different channels.

Unfortunately, the box now says "rec" and the remote refuses to work - even if I unplug it and plug it back in. :o

Any ideas on how to get it back to normal ?

hello liam.....if you press "menu" on the chorus remote for 10 sec..it stops the recording process.

    I can't understand why there's a record button anyway...what does it record to??

Phil - you are a gent, man! :) If you're ever in Limerick I'll buy you a pint! You've saved me from a tomorrow of "your call is important to us, but all of our 3 operators are on fag breaks.....please hold".

Regarding the feature itself, I reckoned it was one of 2 things (or both):

    1) It allows the box to switch channels automatically when you're not there, allowing your VCR to record what the box is outputting, but the box does the "change channel"

e.g. set the VCR to record from its AV channel @ 10 o'c and 12 o'c, then set the box to "record" RTE1 @ 10 o'c and E4 at 12.

    2) If your SCART allows communication, it might even switch on the VCR

But considering I managed to disable the box for an hour by trying it, I don't think I'll be trying it again!

"hold the menu button for 10 seconds" to stop recording mode is about as intuitive as clicking a "Start" button to shut down your computer!
