I Am Just Wondering How You Can Check The History Of All Of Aerlingus Aircraft Going Back To The Sixties. I Know A Lot Of Them Have Been Scrapped But I Was Told That Most Of The Bac 1-11 S, 737s And Even One Of Their 707s Is In Use In Austrailia.
I Am Also Trying To Get My Hands On An Aerlingus Book Printed In The Late 70s Or Early 80s.

    Thanks

It's not Bac, it's BAC - British Aircraft Corporation. My Dad worked for them so proper respect please! ;)

Looking up the history of all aircraft back to the Sixties is a hard one, you would, at the very least, need the registrations and follow on from there. There is a rundown on the current fleet at Plnespotters.net but nothing on the fates of their predesessors.

I have orginial pictures of Aer Lingus aircraft from the 60's

    Pictures of the following aircraft

    De Havilland DH 84 Dragon 2 - EI-ABI
    DC-3 - EI-ACA
    Vickers Viscount 808 - EI-AKL
    Fokker Frienship - EI-AKD
    Boeing 720-048
    Boeing 707-348C - EI-AWN
    BAC One-Eleven Model 208 - EI-ANE
    Boeing 737-248C - EI-ASA
Boeing 747-48 - This is a artist impression and that tells you how old these photos are.

look at old aer lingus aircraft pics and get their tail numbers and then search their photo section and you should come up with some old aerlingus planes.

    Agreed, well said Sir.

thanks for the help, i looked at aerlingus photos on airliners.net, it is great to see them and they bring back some great memories. i also looked at a site=airfleets.net but it did not seem very accurate e.g. it says that aerlingus operated four 747's but as far as i am aware they only had the three, and that they are still using boeing 737's?? if i had the aircraft reg eg EI-BED is it possible to trace its origins from everett to present.

    thanks

Certainly the aircraft description is correct but the tail number is hard to read from the photo, could be EI-AMW or EI-ANW.

It would be EI-AMW..... Mike Whiskey was an EI 707....EI AWN, never heard of that one

As a matter of interest note 737-248C EI -ASA

If the "C" bit denotes "cargo" as in had cargo carrying capability in the main cabin... EI-ASA did NOT have that capability.

Likewise, and I'm not totally sure on this neither did 707 EI-AMW

I also think 747 EI-BED was originally a Lufthansa machine.

Surprised to see that according to airfleets.net (horrible site, don't go there-it's full of pop ups, bots and embedded advertising) EI still own one 747-100!

Irish aircraft register search on FlyingInIreland.com. However, it will only show current Irish registered aircraft.

just a bit of info i found on airliners.net and a few questions if anyone can help. aerlingus had three 747s, EI-ASI and EI-ASJ which were bought new, and EI-BED which was bought off LH in 1979, EI-ASI was scrapped in 2000 at ROS, and EI-BED was scrapped at MARANA in 1996(see pics on airliners.net-a bit sad really).all three were leased from time to time to AIR JAMAICA,AIR SIAM,KABO,EAST AFRICAN,AIR ALGERIE,LAN CHILE,QUANTAS AND BA.
does anyone know the faith of EI-ASJ?

secondly on pics of EI-ASJ for example, in the 70s it had a small hump just behind the main hump:rolleyes: but it is gone in the 80s, again can anyone tell me what this was?

finally on sunday just gone a lufthansa 747 landed in DUB which was a bit unusual, on airliners.net one landed in 2005 due to a medical emergency, does anyone know if this was a scheduled flight or another emergency?
    thanks

<Mod edit>: Airliners.net does not allow hotlinking. The photograph in question can be seen here. </ mod edit>

EI-BED in her final resting place.
    A sad and poignant image.

Can someone please explain what happened to this aircraft? I have googled it and it hasn't thrown up anything. I'm just really curious as to what happened.
    Thanks

Basically it was retired and cannibalised for parts to the aircraft graveyard near Tucson Az.
