    Any comments on this?

I won a NHL shield medal (won DIV III) with Wicklow in 1997. This is a different ballgame altogether. Winners have the opportunity to play Limerick for DIV1 status.

Laois traditionally are a much stronger county but going on this years results, it looks neck and neck... Will Wicklow buckle under pressure at the hallowed ground???!!

Arctic, looks like its only me and you now for this one.

Well, going on results, then hopefully Wicklow can pull it off. Unbeaten in the League so far, it'd be devastating for a first loss this weekend off all of them. They did well to come back against Kildare, and have already beaten Laois this season, so lets hope for the best. Unfortunately I wont be able to make it, LC year and plenty to do, but if its on tv, I'll most certainly watch it. Although, how many times will I get to see Wicklow play a National League final, and in Thurles of all places, where I first got to see a hurling match in action. Damn it anyway

Very tempted to head to Thurles for this one. Head down early, if we win have a rake of pints and convince the OH to drive back!! Might stay for the 2nd match aswell...

Too true. I'll watch it on tv though. Its prob too much of a trek to do in one day anyway, despite doing it about 30 times in my life already(for non-hurling/GAA reasons). Lad who plays football for my club shall be playing, should score a few more goals up front. Wayne O' Gorman it is. And with Bermingham looking to be in contention again, at least theres some strength in depth there tomoorow

Sure they might aswell have lost their unbeaten record in style. Must say, the quality of hurling was abyssmal. The gap between the big teams, and the minnows is shockingly massive. I wont be surprised to see Limerick beat Laois comfortably.

Wicklow could not adjust to the surface in Semple Stadium today. The low ball skidding along was a disaster for them, then they werent getting the ball away quick enough

Yeah - the usual, once we meet big opposition on a big day we can't cope. Its all about tradition I suppose and Wicklow are not a 'hurling county'. Yes - wouldn't be surprised if Limerick hammer Laois - too much at stake..
