Great news, if everything goes through and the bill is reversed surely it means even more people will sign up to poker sites as internet poker would be going through the media so often etc. Happy days.

The democrats in Senate might have the majority to push it through, but it will still be another 6 months before it happens. I think the vote will be no this time around.

I would love to see it happen but I am not overly optimistic about it.

What are peoples opinions on buying shares in Party right now?

They've recently pulled out of the French market, so prices surely have dipped, although this news should counteract that.

No. It hasn't dipped recently, it has gone up, and France were a totally insignificant market. Um, I just checked their price - they tanked 11% from 2 o'clock today. Maybe people looked at Frank's bill and went Lol that sux, sell!

If the guy who is proposing the bill refers to online poker as a 'victimless crime', maybe he isn't the best man to argue the case....

if a bill is proposed badly and fails to get thru, god knows how long before anyone would/could try again...

yeah the dip surprised me 2.franks bill made no differance whatsoever.
i have a $20 a point spread bet on party which has been climbing steady for the last month.
strange thing with their site.If you go to your account and exit / a link pops up to claim $100 which leads to empire poker.
have they bought empire and are trying to get US players playing there through the back door ?

It's not in any sense tho, playing poker online isn't a crime in the usa.

They have just made it difficult to move money in and out of poker sites.

eep, there is every chance the bill won't go thru.

Also, even if it did, I'm sure party poker would see their stock improve, but I don't know if they would get back to the heights they once had, they pissed or should have pissed a lot of people off.

I don't really understand why they were so popular in the first place, their software is awful, their customer service is awful and they handle themselves badly.

    But, who knows.

I havent seen where this is referenced from, but you would have to assume he was being quoted out of context, I certainly hope that he knows what law he is trying to change.

They were the most advertised site in the US, therefore the one the fish tried first.

It's the easiest to multitable with PAHUD, table mods and AHK mods.

Partygaming bought Empire a year ago, and Empire don't allow US customers either so it's nothing to do with getting Americans.

This bill is probably ultimately bad for publically quoted online gambling companies because it's gonna fail and their shares will dip just based on the news when it comes out in a few months.
