The "here's a random book I saw in the library today" thread

Well, we all knew insane study threads were due. 3 & 1/2 weeks to finals, so I suppose it was only a matter of time...

I was walking through the Lecky earlier on when I noticed that someone had a book entitled "Entertaining Lesbians" on a desk (the person who had it out had left it on the desk). I chortled heartily at this sighting (and quietly, lest we not forget that being quiet in the library is necessary (see 'Windows XP' thread in this forum for more details)).

Now, if you're looking to become enlightened on the process of 'entertaining lesbians' you had better act fast - according to the library database, there is but one copy of this in the entire of the Trinity College database (I can't talk for people's personal possessions, of course).

So did you perchance spot an "interesting" book while in the library over the last few days? Was your library neighbour flicking through a copy of Playboys that can be obtained from Santry? This would be a book on a random table, rather then just randomly viewing the library catalogue for HILARIOUS titles. Ahem.

Note: To save the innocent, you can of course use the phrase "I saw" instead of "I borrowed."

And no, I didn't take out the lesbians book. Sorry to disappoint.

One of the other postgrads here had a book with a rather worrying title. I searched for it on Amazon and found this instead which is much worse (the one I saw didn't have "of Children" in the title).

Is it just me or does it sound like a how to guide!

This one I spotted a few months ago on beside the door on the 4th floor of the Ussher. There were a few editions of it there.

There's a great book in the scariest part of the library (HLs) called Mutants (HL-269-163).

Pamela Anderson's novel Star is down there too. It's absolutely hilarious.

HLs used to have a whole section about tantric sex too. It really is the best place for "random" books.

I've been eyeing the "Restrictive Practices Commission Report" for years now. Its on the last shelf in the Lecky as you enter Iveagh Hall. I've promised myself that when the exams are over, I will read this book.
Anyone else planning the same? If so, let's work out a roster so we can all enjoy the magic.

I own that one myself! It's really good.

There was a copy of Wuthering Heights in the men's toilets (by the taps) earlier on today.
