Pokersites rigged??

havent seen a thread around here like this so wat are your thoughts on this??

my thinking is that they are not rigged (as im sure pokersites dont care whos winning the money as long as they get theres) just that the software is tweaked so that the more inprobable hands unfold so more action takes place, pots are bigger, and there cut is bigger.

im always watchin live poker and always interested in the % for the hands flop,T, River and seein how minute there chances of hittin are and how Rarely they actually hit it when the %s are less than 5 or 6.

Online it seems sometimes (more than somethings) ridiculous how hands play out that you know wouldnt happen if you were playin live. people hitin those 1-2% out cards every 2 or 3 pots. and the mental effect this has (highs and lows) eihter by winning or losin by ''bad beats'' just makes you want to play more because either ur runnin lucky or it was a '' bad beat'' and you can play better.

    so wats your thoughts??

You haven't seen many of these threads because for a while there were tonnes of them and each one got shot down. Then they disappeared for a while.

Poker sites are not rigged. There is no reason for them to be.

Edit: Ianmc makes money at this game (we are lead to believe). I don't. He probably knows better.

i agree with brian, there is no benefit for pokersites to be rigged, they make so much money from tables everyday that it is not necessary for their sites to be rigged....
i admit that when u get a bad beat or you are running cold you keep playing because your luck will change, but if you could get that many hands in a live game you would feel the same.... i have never really believe that poker sites were rigged, but a lot of the people i know do, maybe because there are more bad beats, but as a lot of people have probably alread said.
you are playing AT LEAST 5 times the amount of hands you play in a live night, you are obviously going to get bad beated more, and you are obviously giong to run cold or hot a lot of the times, i would actually think you play around 10 times the amount of hands you play in a live game.
if you play 2 tables during the night it would work out to be around that, well for me anyway,
it might seem rigged, but i think thats just an excuse when you're not confident in your play and you're trying to pawn it off on something else

As soon as a single confirmed isolated incident of a Rigging is made public. A Billion $$ industry is crippled. This will never happen, [the rigging not the making public, LOL]. DUCY???

How many people work in the industry, how many have been fired, yet not a single whishle blower yet

Poker sites aren't rigged. If they were then there are thousands of people who datamine millions of hands, they could then run statistical analysis on the %'s and odds of the results of these hands. It wouldn't be difficult to do for several people good at programming and maths.

These threads never go anywhere as you can see from the replies above mine, so no offence stewie, I'm locking this one.

    just in time Ste

The answer to the idea of sites generating hands that want action is simply this: What benefit would it have since the rake is capped?

Also, the person (a business executive) who made the decision to rig it would have to include a programmer in the loop to actually PROGRAM the rigging. This programmer could then easily demand huge numbers of shares and never work again. You could look for suspicious shareholdings by programmers for a start.

Not to mention the statistical analysis that LaFortezza mentioned above. The data is there, its public. If someone could find it, they would publish it and have the biggest story in gambling history, write a book, go on the interview circuit and be included in every class action case taken against the site(s). That hasnt happened.

But then I would say that as I own a skin. :)
