I have a Marshall JCM 900 2x12" combo. Its a vintage amp from the early 1990's. I love the sound out of it but I think its on its last legs and I am seriously thinking of changing it and upgrading to a half stack at the same time.

Anyhow, was wondering if the new JCM 900 re-issues are the same as the one I have.

Secondly, if I was to get a JCM 2000, should I go for the DSL or the TSL series. Also whats the difference between the DSL and the TSl. I know that the DSL has 2 channels and the TSL has three. Is this the only difference??

Any recommendations on which amp to go for. I play rock, Thin Lizzy etc.
Any help on this one would be great.

i dont know if the re-issues are the same, check it out on harmony central i think the tubes are different or somethin

as for the 2000's both are pretty great and most people rpefare the DSL, its a great amp,

ive a tsl100 cause i wanted the extra versatility, main difference being theres independant eq's for each channell on the tsl, so you got 3 channells - clean crunch and lead, all different eqs and what i liked was the seperate volumes so u get a nice volume boost for solos, + ima bit of a tone freak... + footswitchable reverb and fx loop...

the DSL which has 2 overdrives but only on the same EQ

so clean has its own eq and overdrive has its own eq with the option of overdrive1 or overdrive 2

thats the main diff, tsl has 2 fx loops, and a great function caled VPR that reduces the 100 watts down to about 25 watts so u can make it a lil nicer at low volumes

some peolpe think they put to much on the tsl and the dsl is a bit more nice, i tried both and both are similer, whatever your into, try em both
