Can anyone recommend a stock photo site that is subscription based rather than buying credits. Something with a very large library. Have been using stockchange.

just out of curiosity how many people here use stock photography as a way of making some cash from their photos??
Cambo I know from your thread yday that you do, how do you find it?
Do we have a list of all the stock agencies around with their benefits and drawbacks??

Shutterstock are a bit expensive at €1600 for a year or is that the norm for a year.

    Why not support fairtrade photography.

    http://www.photographersdirect.com/

As far as I know there's no annual fee, you pay per photo and set the rate yourself. Photographer, gets 80% as well!!

And as I'm a member go on and buy one of mine please!.

...because he could get hundreds of images Royalty Free every
year in shutterstock but in Photographers Direct he might get
about 10 photos for that price.

    PS I'm on Alamy.:)

Signed up for Photography Direct and they asked me to email them photos that are "500 pixels long and saved at jpg quality level 7"

Beginning to feel out of my depth before I start. Anyone tell me what "jpg quality level 7" means and how I can do this?

Thanks for that link Covey - I signed up and uploaded six photos to PD, and they rated three of them '8 / outstanding' and rest '7 / good'. According to them, only about 5% of the submissions gets rated 8 - is that true, or just another way to keep poor unsuspecting photographer happy?

Anyway, if someone contacts me (unlikely..) for any of those photos, I might give them away for free! :D
