Quad LNB setup problem

I have replaced my single LNB with a quad LNB to feed two receiver off the Astra 2 sat. I can get good singnal and quality on both receivers, one in the kitchen ane in TVroom . But I have found that if I turn on the Kitchen receiver with the TVroom receiver turned off I get no Signal in the kitchen.

Once I turn the TVroom receiver on the kitchen one works straight away. At that point I can turn the TVroom reciever off and I have no problems with Changing stations in the kitchen.

If both are on everything works fine, no problems changing station. Is this a faulty LNB or is there something on the LNB setup for each receiver I need to change?. Both are currnetly set the same

Sounds like a faulty LNB. Was this a "stolen from Sky" cheapo from eBay perhaps?

Try swapping the LNB connections to the unused ones.

Was bought from a Bricks and mortar shop that does supply sky kit .

Tried moving port one (living room) to empty port three on LNB same thing port 2 (kitchen ) doesn't wake up till port three goes live for a min.

Guess i'll have to climb back up and replace.

Make sure that the reciver that does not get a signal has "LNB Power" selected.

If that was the case, the kitchen receiver would stop working again the minute the TVroom box was swiched off again (see OP's 2nd paragraph)

Changed the LNB still the same. The receiver does have the power selected. I'm begining to think this must be an odd receiver problem. Will swap the reciever over and see if the problme stays with the receiver

Swap the receivers over problem stayed with the receiver. So that confirms that the receiver is the problem. I did a software upgrade and factory reset , still the same.

The receiver is a Metronic touchbox3 , any recomendations for a cheep and cheerfull replacement.

Try Maplins, or Lidl might be selling their camping sets seperate.
Failing that, perhaps someone you know might have a digibox lying about the place??
