RGB vs sRGB

I vaguely remember reading something about this a while back but cant find it. Why use them and what advantages are there over the other?? Would you use one for specific applications, what about printing etc? Ta Mike

RGB isn't a colourspace as such, you're probably thinking of Adobe RGB versus sRGB. Long story short, just put everything into sRGB. Most (if not all) printers insist that your stuff be in sRGB if its in anything at all, anything else they'll convert. Plus every browser on the planet with the exception of safari will just presume your image is in sRGB, which leads to that common problem of your pictures (if they're in the adobe colorspace) looking subdued and washed out.
