insurance on my mac!

    Hi guys
    hope yer al well
    looking to get insurance when i buy my macbook this saturday in the applestore here on boston.
    just wondering i f anyone knows if one can take an insuranece policy against theft/damage.
    its just im over here in boston and need it badly!

    You can take out applecare...it'll give you a repair warrenty thats worldwide for 2 extra years (3 total)

    It won't protect against theft, companys don't like insuring laptops as they can nicked very easily so its going to be either covered by car or house insurance depending on where it is.

    Dell offer insurance on their laptops when buying online though?
    strange how apple dont offer this
    i need to coverit against theft and i dont have/want contents insurance

    its not something that apple offer at all.....never have (to my knowledge)

    I'd buy a lock for the thing - buy one of the good kingston ones, the 'puter has the slot for it!

    went into the mac store here in boston last nite, to learn that apple don't offer insurance!
    was quite dissapointed but i guess it didn't come as too big of a shock!
    anyway just thought ye'd like to know, collecting my macbook on saturday! can't wait! :eek: :eek: :D:D

    Seems like a bit of a shock! You'll have to deal directly with an insurance company or a broker to get insurance.
