Me and 2 of the lads are hoping to go to France for the summer, anywhere near the coast either West or South, does anyone have any ideas for accomodation or jobs? even of anyone knew any good irish bars in seaside towns. I have university level french and they both have higher level leaving cert so the language shouldnt be a major problem

There's an Irish bar in Marseille that was always full any time I went in. Or at least, there was an Irish bar in Marseille in 1998-9, and I imagine it's still there :)

And Marseille is a great city, and so much other things to see and do around that area. Cassis is about an hour and a half away by (hired) moped, the lavender fields, olive groves and lemon groves of Provence on your doorstep.....

I don't know what the seasonal work is like in Provence, to be honest - fruit picking and the like - but it's a gorgeous, warm-hearted, friendly place to stay. even if you only have the, ehh, cúpla focail (yeah, so it's the wrong language, phhlllbbtt!), even making the effort to speak they love so much. Especially once they know you're Irish.

There are several books about working in France, both seasonal and long-term. Can't recall the name of any right now, but I know Waterstones in Jervis Centre has them (if you're Dublin-based), and I'm sure any larger bookshop will have them.

thanks ive been around there before, well closer to nice and cannes it seemed a nice spot, just on the moped point do you need a licence for one of them?
